dAFi Rules of Conduct
Mission: Energize Disabled Through Art
These Rules of Conduct apply to all Hartists, program members, event participants, volunteers and other individuals affiliated with Disabled Artists Foundation, Inc. (dAFi).
By participating in a dAFi program, event or dAFi-related connection, each person agrees to follow these rules.
Prohibited Conduct
Individuals affiliated with dAFi will not:
A. Harmful or Deceptive Conduct
Be obscene, hateful, inflammatory, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive or fraudulent in any way.
B. Violence, Discrimination and Illegal Activity
Promote violence, discrimination, negative prejudgment or illegal activity.
Individuals will not engage in defamatory conduct, invade another person’s privacy or otherwise engage in objectionable behavior.
C. Religious and Political Conduct
Mock or denigrate the religious beliefs of others, involve themselves in sensitive political topics or stigmatize national or religious leaders within dAFi-related spaces and connections.
D. Intellectual Property and Identity
Infringe upon the intellectual property or other rights of any third party. This includes copyrights, trademarks, database rights, confidentiality rights and similar protections.
Individuals will not attempt to impersonate another person or misrepresent their identity, affiliation or connection to another person or organization.
E. Harmful Links or Technology
Share hyperlinks or connections to third-party websites that may contain viruses, Trojans, worms, time bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or other harmful programs or computer code designed to interfere with the operation of any device, software, hardware or network.
F. Privacy and Confidentiality
Reveal details that allow themselves or another person to be identified or contacted outside of the space or connection where the interaction occurred.
Financial information of any kind is strictly confidential and must not be discussed or exchanged. This protects everyone involved.
A Hartist may not publicly share that they are a Hartist without the express written consent of the dAFi Board. This is intended to protect both Hartists and those who help others.
These privacy expectations apply across dAFi-related connections, including Discord, YouTube, Facebook fan pages and other online or offline spaces where people connected through dAFi may interact. These spaces may not be owned, operated or administered by dAFi.
Most Importantly
People affiliated with dAFi as program members or event participants will look for positive ways that we can grow together.
By participating in this grassroots nonprofit, individuals acknowledge that dAFi’s volunteers are doing the best they can to support the mission and the people served by it.
Violations
A violation of these Rules of Conduct may result in a warning and/or immediate termination of active Hartist status, denial of participation in a dAFi program and/or removal from dAFi-related spaces and connections.
Consequences are determined by the dAFi Board after reviewing the matter.
The Board reserves the right to edit or modify these Rules of Conduct when further clarity is needed.

Medical Disclaimer
dAFi does not provide medical care, healthcare, nutrition therapy or coaching services intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any physical ailment or mental or medical condition.
We are not therapists. We provide art supplies and creative opportunities because research suggests that participating in creative activities may support health and well-being and because we have experienced the value of creating in our own lives.
Anyone who believes they need medical attention should contact their local physician, therapist or other qualified healthcare provider. The complete disclaimer is available at: www.disabledartists.org/public-docs
Note: Edited for readability in July 2026, but the content remains the same. We kept the existing rules, consequences, core values and disclaimer. We replaced “the group” with broader language covering dAFi-related spaces and connections, including platforms dAFi does not own or administer.
